Creating a Distinctive Tea Brand for a Client

In 2017, I spotted a gap in the tea market and decided to fill it: creating an entire brand experience from scratch for 'Sencha.'

The logo? Just an "S" with rising steam that kept things simple while adding character.

Put together a full A4 brand guideline book - every typeface, colour, design and curve documented so the brand would stay true to itself no matter where it showed up. Then came the fun part: designing 18 different labels across three packaging types for six tea varieties. Each one had to feel distinctly 'Sencha' while standing out on its own.

The whole project was my love letter to an overlooked market; and proof that good branding can turn even the simplest cup of tea into something special.

A brand is a living entity - and it is enriched or undermined cumulatively over time, the product of a thousand small gestures
